No Dogs within the Preserve

The Canyon,
Nestled among the Little San Bernardino Mountains, the desert oasis at Big Morongo Canyon is one of the 10 largest cottonwood and willow riparian (stream) habitats in California. The upstream end of the canyon lies in the Mojave Desert, while its downstream portion opens into the Colorado Desert.

 

THE HIKES:

We will hike about 3  to 4  miles. There is some elevation gain and some soft sand.

The drive to Covington Park Community Center take about 20 minutes from Palm Springs.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Take 62 hwy from 10 freeway
2. Enter Morongo Valley
3. Turn Right on East Drive
A. Willie Boys Saloon will be on the left of East Of East
Drive. You turn right opposite side of Willie Boys
Saloon
4. Drive on East Drive Pass the  sign for  Big Morongo Preserve. Follow the road for another 600ft and turn left and enter parking lot for Covington Park Community Center

1. WATER 3 litters if you are planning to do the longer hike
2. SNACK
3. BRING A CAMERA (THE AREA IS BEAUTIFUL)
