The La Quinta Cove to Lake Cahuilla

6 mile round trip moderate hike with an elevation change of 548 feet.
The trail is not difficult but it is 6 miles with some soft sand areas.

Last year we saw Big Horn Sheep,
We hike near the lake but usually we skip the $5 entrance fee.
This is a Beautiful Canyon Hike.

Time: The total time is drive to the hike location, hike, break, a lunch and drive back to parking location

This trail crosses a divide separating a peninsula known as the Coral Reef Mountains to the north and the main Santa Rosas to the south. En route to Lake Cahuilla, be sure to follow the trail where it leaves the wash next to The Quarry golf course – the trail will take you away from the golf course in a couple of places.

I will be wearing my Indiana Western Style Hat and I will be at the parking lot near Las Casuelas Quinta
You must be at the Las Casuelas Quinta parking area no later than 10:00 am.
