--------
Years past actual weather

2016 Low 40s at Night and Upper 80s Day
2015 High 30s at Night and Upper 80s Day
2014 Low 40s at Night and Mid 80s Day
2013 Low 40s at Night and Low 80s Day
sometime afternoon thundershowers....

The nights can be cold so you want to bring your sleeping bag and a couple of blankets. Sleeping bags should be rated 20 or colder.

THE GROUP SPOT
-----
I have stayed at this campground with Distance 2B Traveled Hiking Group 2 years ago. We can take the buses to most of our locations for hiking and lunch.

WHAT THE HECK WILL WE DO THERE?
----

Hiking..Duh :) Just kidding. There are so many sites to see. Like Sedona I am going to wait to share our hiking areas.

With that said, here are some of my dream visiting areas in Death Valley

1. Hiking on the John Muir Trail (moderate hike)
2. Midnight Natural Hot Springs Soak
3. Hiking into the wilderness (you may need to require a permit for distance hiking)

YOU PERFER TO STAY IN A HOTEL
-------
You can but know the camping group won’t have a phone single so you can’t contact us.
You will need to take a shuttle service to reach our campsite. More than likely we will have maxed our parking at 10 vehicles.
The shuttle service ends at 6 pm.
I do ask those staying at another location but do want to join us on our hikes pay a one time trip payment of $35 per person for event setup.

BEAR BOXES
-------------
Pack to share space. Figure you will be sharing a bear box with 4 to 5 people

YOU WILL NEED
---------
1. Tent (upon request-you can rent a 4 person tent from me for $35) (you will need to transport )
2. A sleeping bag that is rated in the teens
or a sleeping bag and a handful of blankets.
3. Food or dine out Mammoth
There are several stores in Mammoth
4. I will send you a camping equipment list.
5. Shuttle Service  (free)
6. Carpooling -The camping space can accommodate 13 vehicles.

7.  Each adult can either bring one bundle of firewood or purchase a bundle of firewood at the general store.

THIS IS A RAIN, WIND, HEAT OR COLD TRIP.

The Reds Meadow campground is located at the end of the valley and is most popular for it’s free hot spring showers. The showers are available for all campers in the valley on a first come first serve basis. Red’s campground is closest to Sotcher Lake, Reds Meadow Resort and the Rainbow Falls trailhead. The popular sites are the first loop along the meadow, but campsites 43-45, in the back loop are the most private.
