-------------------------- MEETING LOCATON: Del Taco across from Love's Gas Station in Coachella. From Palm Springs/Palm Desert enter the 10 freeway heading east. Exit Dillon Road (last exit in the Coachella Valley). You must go under the 10 freeway and the Del Taco is immediately after the 10 Freeway on the left across from Love's Gas Station.
You will need to drive on a dirt road for about 5 miles. In the desert near the Salton Sea, outsider artist Leonard Knight paints divinely inspired visions on a dirt ridge he calls Salvation Mountain. Muds “Volcanoes” (Freaks of Nature) — The mud “volcanoes” are cones built up out of viscous mud that bubbles up through central vents. Several mud pots located next to each other will have different fluid levels and different colors in the mud.
